America’s Farm to Fork Capital

America’s Farm to Fork Capital

Did you know that Sacramento’s restaurant scene helped the city win the title of America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital? McClellan RV Park, just 14 miles northwest of Sacramento, offers superior vacation or on-location stays perfect for a quick trip to experience the food scene for yourself!

Farm to Fork Capital

How does a city become America’s Farm to Food capital? Well, with the freshest, safest, and most nutritious fruits and vegetables for starters!

Up to 120 diverse vendors (based on the market) demonstrate the area’s bounty with a shopping experience that features something for everyone. In addition to the fresh food, some markets also host family friendly arts and crafts activities.

The Midtown Farmers Market

For example, the Midtown Farmers Market ranks as a favorite because they do it up big with second Saturday festivities. This special event features multiple crafters, chef demos, an edible tasting garden, and a very cool Kombucha Kulture Mobile Draft Bar. (Try the on-tap fermented tea beverage while you are there!)

If you are a dog lover, next to the market is a new pop-up dog park making family shopping very easy. The Midtown Farmers Markets is located at 20th and J St. and runs every Saturday.

Also, from September 19th – 29th the Farm-to-Fork Street Festival will take place and host more than a mile of vendors and four stages, while providing plenty to eat and drink.

Remember, the next time you need groceries, think local and support a Sacramento farmer!
