Originally from the Philippines Islands, Jeremiah Valdez found his way home when he was recommended for the property manager role with McClellan RV Park in North Highlands, near Sacramento. His new role as property manager started on June 25.
After working the past three years in logistics, Jeremiah transitioned into the world of RV Park management. He arrived in the United States at age 14 and is the oldest of seven. Jeremiah learned most things in life hands-on. Here’s a little more about Jeremiah and his love for the Sacramento area and McClellan RV Park!
“Life will throw you challenges. I was briefly homeless, here in the US, but not for too long. It’s humbling, and it taught me lessons that I might not have learned otherwise. It’s like that saying: “Experience is the Best Teacher.” I’ve also had to learn a new language, a new culture and a new country. America is a great land of opportunity, but you have to go after it.”
What he’s Learned from Past Struggles
“I’ve learned how to help others struggling, how to identify it. Pride prevents many from seeking help. I know that first-hand. But that’s probably why I’ve developed an eye for identifying that in others, because I’ve struggled with it. I try to intervene on their behalf, sooner rather than later, when struggles surface: ex: late rent and evictions.”
What he Loves about McClellan RV Park
“The residents are really friendly and it’s the best RV Park in Sacramento Area! It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a calm lifestyle. Traveling medical staff, who work at Kaiser Permanente, and employees from PG&E live here during their short and long-term stays. We’re also close to the Sacramento Downtown Plaza, Arco Arena, Raging Waters water park, The Sacramento Zoo, lots of restaurants, museums and shopping.”
What Jeremiah Likes to do in his Free Time
I love to travel, see new places, and talk to people and learn as much as I can. Sometimes a good book will do the trick, when I’m too busy to travel. I also really love helping people out, especially those who are struggling with pending homelessness. I’ll reach out to non-profit organizations on their behalf. I really love being able to do that.”
